Embryo Stem Cells

Researchers conducted from embryonic stem cells, then from skin cells transformed into undifferentiated stem cells. This type of cell has the ability to redifferentiate in any other cell type, depending on how it stimulates.

From these cells, the researchers have managed to create cells corresponding to the first stages leading to gametes (eggs and sperm). Scientists are hopeful to see these precursors and immature cells develop into eggs and sperm, and lead to a viable embryo by fertilization.

But before being applied to humans, the experiment will be performed on mice. The latter will receive in their ovaries or testicles of egg and sperm precursor cells. Researchers hope that these cells will develop positively due to the influence of naturally occurring sex hormones in mice. After this successful stage, the tests will be extended to primates and then humans.

"The creation of germ cells at an early stage is one of the first events that took place in early mammalian development," says Dr. , lead author of the study. "This is a step that we have managed to recreate using mouse stem cells and rats, but until now, little research had managed it so using human stem cells. It revealed important differences between the embryonic development of humans and rodents, which means that the results obtained in mice and rats can not be extrapolated directly to human. "

If confirmed, this technique could allow an infertile person to create viable gametes from its stem cells, and no longer have to use a donor. Infertile or even infertile couples could then conceive a biological child in vitro. What revolutionize treatments for infertility, especially as oocyte donation and sperm are not always sufficient to meet the many demands.

Reproduction Problem with Tuberculosis in Female

Reproduction Problem with Tuberculosis in Female. On the occasion of World Day of fight against tuberculosis, celebrated on March 24, a group of British parliamentarians appeals to various governments to create a research fund and development in the fight against tuberculosis, an infectious disease that cause the most deaths in the world. The latest figures from the World Health Organization (WHO) indicate, 9 million people contracted TB and 1.5 million died. And according to British parliamentarians, multidrug-resistant TB could kill 75 million people by 2050 and cost 15.3 trillion euros to the global economy.A form of the disease drug-resistant
Huge progress has been made in recent years: the tuberculosis mortality rate dropped by 45% between 1990 and 2013 and nearly 37 million lives were saved between 2000 and 2013. But there are important homes where TB became MDR-where the cure rate is low. This form of TB (MDR-TB) is caused by organisms resistant to the two most effective anti-TB drugs (isoniazid and rifampicin). It was identified in a hundred countries.
Despite the resistance of the disease, WHO aims to put an end to the global TB epidemic by reducing by 95% the number of tuberculosis deaths and 90% incidence between 2015 and 2035. Like British MPs, the global organization calls on governments to adapt and implement a strategy to fight against the disease in order to gain commitment and funding at a high level.Tuberculosis is a disease caused by a bacterium (Mycobacterium tuberculosis) that usually affects the lungs.
If the obligation to vaccination against tuberculosis (BCG vaccine) was suspended in 2007 in France, the vaccine is still recommended, especially for the most vulnerable children to tuberculosis, their origins and their particular travel.
For despite a decrease in the number of cases of TB has not disappeared worldwide. Moreover, because of mindless use of antibiotics, bacterial resistance have emerged, leading to a multi-resistant TB more difficult to cure.

It is very hard for a man to know that infertility has, in turn

It is very hard for a man to know that infertility has, in turn, is very difficult to process the uncertainty generated by not knowing the cause.

Infertility male
What need Ova Science technology addresses do not try the conventional in vitro fertilization? One in six couples worldwide struggle with infertility, and unfortunately the standard of care, which often consists in IVF, often fails. Our goal is to address the underlying causes of infertility and the cause of failure of conventional treatment, which often consists of unhealthy eggs. Now we know that women have egg precursor cells in the shell of the ovaries. We are developing several treatments using stem cells from these eggs. In one of these treatments, which has already been launched, add the eggs mitochondria. In another approach, which is still considered experimental, egg precursor cells moved to the center of the ovary to ripen to form eggs during IVF. In a third treatment, too experimental, we take stem cells and turn them into eggs outside the body of the patient.

Should these treatments change our understanding of the biological clock?

As a woman matures, still it has fresh and healthy these precursor cells young. It seems that these cells do not age for being in an area that lacks a good blood supply, so they remain inactive. I do believe that this discovery should change our assumptions about fertility and aging.

Then, to what point in your life she could become pregnant a woman?

It ends up being a conversation between doctor and patient about the age at which one can refer to in vitro fertilization, and most clinics have certain ways of looking at the age limit allowed. Normally about menopause begins to unravel the matter. Women should receive hormones in addition to the in vitro fertilization to conceive.

Do you see any limitation on the number of people who can benefit from this technology?

More women hope to form families. When you look at emerging markets such as Latin America and the Middle East they are increasingly women who receive a college education, seeking a specialized graduate traveling outside the country to receive such accreditation. [For being older when they start trying to conceive] infertility also increases the rate of in vitro fertilization, and demand is expected to increase further in the future.

Fertility has become a matter of state in Cuba, a country without good collateral aged population replacement where, after various studies and surveys, the government talks about and encourage the birth of two or more children and a national program pays for treatments fertility.

Surrogate Mother Surogacy

If we consider only medical risk, there is no a priori reason to prohibit the GPA than banning in vitro fertilization pregnancies or from a certain age. Pierre Jouannet also note that "nobody forbids oocyte donation to patients with Turner syndrome, which however makes it more dangerous for pregnant women," citing the case of two patients died in 2007 and 2008. "This can not be an argument for refusing the GPA," he pleads.

The fact that the surrogate consent is not in any way serve as an alibi against the first medical need, ie do no harm

National Consultative Ethics Committee

Questioning about the GPA is indeed a first ethical questions, because, contrary to in vitro fertilization or pregnancy from a certain age, the risk is not taken this time for 'his' child but for that of others. The GPA compares actually rather organ donation, for which French law requires some proportionality in the gift. A person can donate a kidney donation can save if a close ... but no donation can be made for the comfort of a person to the detriment of his own health. Having a child is certainly a major issue but not usually prevents couples to live. Giving nine months of his life can he be compared with being deprived children? And can we forbid someone to make the choice to help someone else? Therein lies the question raised by the CCNE in 2010:

"The fact that the surrogate consent is not in any way serve as an alibi against the first medical need, ie do no harm. Although pregnancy and delivery happen normally, repeated pregnancies and childbirth experience women's bodies and can affect their subsequent health. "

Nevertheless passionate debate well beyond the ethical issues it raises. It is interesting to note that the gift of uterus raises the moment absolutely no condemnation of anti-GPA, even if it involves the same ethical questions, since it is a gift of his body at risk for health and for not maintaining a being alive but to enable him to have a child. Probably because the GPA disrupts the idea of ??filiation "natural", already suffering as many opponents of the GPA by gay marriage and its corollary, adoption for same-sex couples.
