Endometriosis: Causes and Symptoms



What is Endometriosis?

Uterine lining tissue which is developed outside the uterus is known as Endometriosis. The tissue is normally grown inside the uterus but when it is grown outside the uterus then it affects the body and you experience too much pain especially during periods. It is considered as the abnormal growth of cells and commonly present in the organs of pelvis. It also affects fertility and you may experience infertility. 

What causes Endometriosis?

The cause of endometriosis is unidentified. Nobody has determined that what the main cause of this disease is. But there is some theory which is explained below:
  • Usually menstrual blood is normally excluded but in this condition menstrual blood back up into the fallopian tubes and pelvis.
  • It is also researched that it can be developed into the fetus which is developing inside the woman’s womb and can be present at the pubertal estrogen levels.
  • This condition can be genetic defect which is an inherited component. If a female has a close relative who has this disease then there is chance for a girl that endometriosis can be developed.
  • Hormonal estrogen is also responsible for this condition.
  • If you have problems with immune system then it can make impossible that extrauterine endometrial tissue destruction can be stopped.
Symptoms of Endometriosis:
  • Painful and heavy menstrual
  • Lower abdomen pain
  • Lower back or pelvis pain
  • Severe cramps during periods
  • Urinary problems like pain, constipation, and diarrhea
  • Bloody urine or faeces
  • Affects the fertility and so you can experience infertility problem
  • Vomiting and Nausea
  • Abnormal periods which longer than average periods which is usually of 7 days and with this condition you may experience more than 7 days.
  • Sex pain drive
